THE SPASTIC CHILDREN'S ASSOCIATION OF SINGAPORE
The Spastic Children's Association of Singapore(SCAS) was established in 1957 to provide early intervention, special education, rehabilitation services, and vocational training for children and adults with Cerebral Palsy in Singapore. The vision of SCAS is to be a leading regional centre for persons with Cerebral Palsy, helping them to realise their full potential and to lead a life with respect.

WHAT IS CEREBRAL PALSY?
Cerebral(brain) Palsy(lack of muscle control) is an inclusive term used to describe a group of non-progressive disorders occuring in young children in which damage to the brain causes impairment of motor function. It is not curable and can occur before of during birth or through some illness or injuiry of the child early in life.

SERVICES FOR CHILDREN
Early Intervention Programme for Infrants and Children(EIPIC) EIPIC provides early therapy intervention for children aged between of few months old to 6 years old, suffering from one or more disabilities, with the potential of attending a Special Education School or the mainstream school enviroment. Its aim is to maximise the developmental growth of each child by providing holistic and individual developmental programmes for the child and to prevent and minimise the risks of secondary disabilities through support and training for the child and family.

Spactic Children's Association School
The School provides special education to over 250 children with Cerebral Palsy and related conditions between the ages of 6 to 18. Teacher-student ratio, is kept low at 1:8, so that greater individual attention can be given to each student. Our specialised school curriculum seeks to meet the individual needs of the student, dealing with both academic skills as well as skills for independent living.
